G I S

SOCIAL SECTOR

Riddhi Management Services Private Limited (RMSPL) has carved an exclusive niche for itself by helping create a surveillance system for social sectors like health, education and nutrition through the aid of GIS solutions, software enabled analytical tools and large scale capacity building programmes. Our company has worked in close cooperation with the Central Government and the State Governments of various states in India as well as esteemed international welfare agencies like UNICEF, WHO and GTZ. RMSPL has been instrumental in making Geographic Information System (GIS) a user-friendly tool in the form of whizmaps so that it can be put to use by the beneficiary bodies and not remain limited merely to the technical administrators. Whizmaps, developed by RMSPL, are devoid of unnecessary frills and complicacies. You can capture layers of information till the micro level and put across simple and complex queries for converging social issues.

Here are some of our projects where our expertise in the arena of GIS in social sector is self evident:

Census of India [2002]

CensusGIS

We have developed a GIS software which encompasses the expansive database of Census of India through Whizmaps from the village level to the national level. The database reflects various aspects of Indian demography like sex ratio, population density, religion, profession, educational status and disabilities and so on. The visitors are allowed to view, draw and print the thematic maps on any subject pertaining to Indian population

Integrated Child Development Scheme [2003]

Know More

We have been strategically instrumental in technically upgrading this early childhood care and nutrition programme of Department of Women and Child Development of West Bengal. The GIS solution comes in the form of whizmap that displays all the ICDS centres and layers of relevant socio-economic information on rural and urban West Bengal. The computer generated monthly report also includes analytical tools coupled with indicators and validations. The local administrative body and the supervisors use these analytical tools to work out the principal indicators like weighment efficiency, severe & moderate malnourishment and enrollment efficiency of their respective Blocks. Research and study proves that this live information has had considerable effect in the form of hike in weighing and enrollment of children and improvement in their nutritional status. This project obviously includes a large scale capacity building of the administrative officials from Block to State levels on computer fundamentals, generation of monthly reports and whizmaps funded by UNICEF.
The representatives from Orissa, Assam and Karnataka also underwent capacity building workshops on effective use of GIS and software analytical tools in nutrition surveillance and ICDS monitoring.
